Another Central Texas town is getting a Waffle House, and no it’s not San Antonio. The Georgia-based breakfast chain recently submitted plans for a new eatery in a growing Austin suburb.
Waffle House is building a $300,000 restaurant in Liberty Hill, a city about 35 miles north of Austin, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. This will be the latest Capital City-area development for Waffle House, which is continuing expansion efforts across the Lone Star State.
Currently Waffle House has five Central Texas locations, most of which are near Austin. The closest Waffle House to San Antonio is in Kyle, which opened its doors in May 2024. Further north, you’ll find four Waffle House restaurants in and around Austin: Ben White Boulevard near the airport, east off U.S. Highway 290, on Dessau Road and one in Round Rock.
Once open, this new Waffle House will join several new restaurants and stores set for Liberty Hill, including Bojangles, Costco, Target and Whataburger.
