Any kind of vandalism or theft can be a major setback for a small, local business trying to provide a service for customers. Earlier this week, an unidentified person broke into a San Antonio restaurant with deep roots in the city’s Midtown area, leaving behind damage to the property.
Capparelli’s on Main reportedly experienced a break-in in the early hours around 3 a.m. on Monday, with the intrusion captured on surveillance video. Based on images shared by owner Gay Capparelli on Facebook, an individual used a large rock to shatter one of the restaurant’s front windows to gain access to the building. The intruder, who had a dark-colored beard and donned a backwards cap, appeared to grab bottles of wine that were openly stored inside Capparelli’s on Main’s dining room.
“I am so fed up and sick to my stomach! If any one recognizes this man, please contact me or SAPD if you have any information,” Capparelli wrote in her Facebook post about the break-in.
Capparelli opened Capparelli’s on Main in 2001, using recipes that trace back to her family’s Italian roots. The restaurant’s building was originally an antique store before becoming the Capparelli’s we know today, which remains open for business on Main Avenue in the Monte Vista neighborhood…
