Siblings in foster care after emaciated 10-year-old dies and his parents charged

Four children of a San Antonio couple accused of killing their 10-year-old adopted son are now in foster care, according to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

The agency confirmed Thursday that the surviving children of Christina Miranda, 32, and Jonathan Miranda, 34, have been placed in foster care following the couple’s arrests on capital murder charges in the death of their adopted son, Michael Miranda.

“I can say that they are in a safe placement with people that they know, and they are well supported and cared for,” Joseph Hoelscher, the attorney representing the Mirandas in their child-protective services case, said this week…
