Inmate died from injuries sustained during attempted robbery of smoke shop, police said

SAN ANTONIO – An inmate who died after being hospitalized with injuries from an alleged robbery was a suspect in a recent smoke shop heist.

Victor Cadena, 34, was arrested by San Antonio Police Department officers on Oct. 4. He was transported directly to University Hospital and booked by proxy due to the extent of his injuries, according to authorities.
