SAN ANTONIO – The man accused of shooting and paralyzing a San Antonio combat marine is set to appear in court on Thursday.
Wilmer Vladimir Ortega Ruiz, 29, faces several aggravated assault charges stemming from an alleged attack in June. According to police, Ortega Ruiz went to a bar where he was stopped by Jimmy Friesenhah, 44, who was working security.
A fight ensued, and Ortega Ruiz allegedly shot Friesenhah twice in the chest and once in the neck. Friesenhah is now paralyzed and continues to receive treatment…
