San Antonio man gets six years for fleeing police, stealing IDs

A San Antonio man has been sentenced to six years in prison after officials say he stole credit cards, debit cards and IDs and led  New Braunfels police on a high-speed chase down Interstate 35.

Barry Joseph Hawkins, 27, pleaded guilty to charges of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and fraudulent use or possession of between five and 10 identifying information items, according to the Comal County District Attorney’s Office.
