H-E-B amps up EV charging options at select San Antonio stores

New amenities are coming to select H-E-B stores in San Antonio. H-E-B is rolling out electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities at two locations on the city’s Northwest Side, according to recent filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The EV charging facilities will be installed at the Leon Valley H-E-B Marketplace and the largest H-E-B in San Antonio on Bandera Road and Loop 1604, according to the TDLR filings. H-E-B aims to construct the new EV facilities in the existing parking lots.

H-E-B will start the construction at both stores on March 15, 2026. The estimated completion date will be December 12, 2026, according to the TDLR filings, which are subject to change. Each EV charging station is estimated to cost $600,000. The EV stations are from Electrify America EVCS, a Volkswagen Group-owned operator that runs a large network of EV charging stations across the U.S., including a brand-agnostic, hyper-fast charging network…
