‘System has failed’: Family seeks answers after charges dropped in death of pregnant teen, boyfriend

The family of Matthew Guerra, who was fatally shot alongside his pregnant girlfriend, is seeking answers after the woman accused of helping cover up the killings had her criminal charges dismissed.

Jury selection was scheduled to start Wednesday in the trial of Myrta Romanos, 49. In a surprising turn of events, prosecutors instead moved to drop the charges against her and she was released from the Bexar County jail on Wednesday afternoon.
