Former SAPD officers acquitted in shooting of Melissa Perez speak publicly for the first time

The former San Antonio police officers who were acquitted after being charged in the death of Melissa Perez are speaking out for the first time publicly.

Former Sgt. Alfred Flores and former Officer Eleazar Alejandro had been charged with murder while ex-Officer Nathaniel Villalobos was charged with aggravated assault. Following a month-long trial, a Bexar County jury chose to find all three men not guilty.

The officers shot and killed Perez, 46, on June 23, 2023, at her Southwest Side apartment. Police said she charged in the direction of the officers with a hammer right before they fired their duty weapons…
