La-Z-Boy ramps up its San Antonio presence with a new $2M store

Sit back and relax because La-Z-Boy is getting ready to open a fourth San Antonio store.

The Michigan-based furniture brand, known for inventing the first recliner, is building a new $2 million, 12,000-square-foot store at 14611 W. Interstate 10, near the intersection with Pecan Springs Road on the North Side, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. It’s expected to be completed by September 2026.

In addition to inventing the first recliner in 1928, La-Z-Boy sells a range of upholstered sofas, love seats, chairs and ottomans. The company already has three locations — on San Antonio’s far West, North and Northeast sides — as well as a store in New Braunfels. It also boasts sister brands, Rooms To Go, Furniture Row, Hoelscher’s Furniture and Starcke Furniture Co. in the area…
