SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, in collaboration with the FBI and DEA, has arrested a former correctional officer on federal charges related to contraband smuggling and narcotics trafficking.Austin Thomas Cole, a 27-year-old former correctional officer at the GEO-operated Karnes County Detention Facility in Karnes County, Texas, is accused of attempting to provide marijuana to an inmate and conspiring to distribute heroin and cocaine, according to the indictment.
