Local Airmen at Joint Base San Antonio Honored for Outstanding Leadership and Service

The Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) First Sergeant Diamond Sharp Awards are sponsored by the JBSA First Sergeants Council. These awards recognize Airmen who consistently support the Air Force mission. The latest recipients have shown leadership and dedication in various roles at JBSA, Texas.

Tech. Sgt. Wesley J. Cunningham, from the Air Force Installation Mission Support Center, served as an E-8 first sergeant. He managed incidents involving two military civilian employee deaths and two domestic violence cases. Cunningham coordinated support for affected families and led a panel at Iowa State University to mentor 43 officer candidates. He also helped update 232 by-laws for the JBSA Airman’s Council and created a development platform for 1,400 junior Airmen.

Tech. Sgt. Troy A. Cyburt, of the 92nd Cyberspace Operations Squadron, served as acting first sergeant during a period of legal changes. He organized a morale event for 110 Airmen at no cost and mentored peers in award writing. Cyburt also supported an Airman’s recovery and helped maintain operational readiness…
