Heavy rain, flooding possible for parts of Texas starting tonight. Here’s where.

Earlier this week, a powerful storm system brought flooding rain to parts of Texas.

The western Hill Country was hit hardest — the city of Menard recorded an astonishing 9.93 inches of rain. In North Texas, DFW airport picked up 3.95 inches on Thursday, marking the wettest November day in that area’s history.

That system has since moved east, but another low-pressure system will approach the Lone Star State on Sunday. Rainfall in San Antonio is expected to remain fairly light, but other parts of Texas could once again encounter heavy rain and flooding, starting by Sunday night. Here’s a look at San Antonio’s forecast, and where the heaviest rain will fall across Texas.

Sunday’s San Antonio forecast

Cool weather is expected across South Central Texas, as morning lows hover near 60 degrees between 5 and 9 a.m. Mostly cloudy skies throughout the day will keep temperatures from rising very quickly, keeping San Antonio in the mid- 60s through the late morning and into the early afternoon.

A few showers and thunderstorms are also possible through the morning and into the early afternoon. Overall rain chances are about 30%-40%. If you do see a storm, it will likely be brief, and most areas will pick up less than a half-inch of rainfall…
