Concrete maker pulls plug on $40 million Hill Country facility

A company that makes lightweight concrete products has canceled plans for a $40 million headquarters and corporate hub in Kerrville after one of its key suppliers shut down, city officials say.

Megaacrete,  a joint venture of Florida-based companies Litecrete and Aercon, last year announced plans for a 120,000-square-foot corporate headquarters, training center and manufacturing hub on a site near Kerrville-Kerr County Airport. The manufacturing site was intended to help its parent companies meet increasing demand for autoclaved aerated concrete, a lightweight concrete product that has been used to build hotels, H-E-B grocery stores and apartment buildings…
