San Antonio Police Arrest Two Men in Separate Mail Theft Spree, City Launches Awareness Campaign Ahead of Holidays

San Antonians are on high alert as police have recently nabbed two men in unrelated mail theft incidents, marking a concerning surge in this type of crime across the city. Fox San Antonio reported that Aaron Ledger was arrested on the far North Side after officers found him with a stash of 239 pieces of stolen mail inside his vehicle. Nearby mailboxes were also reportedly damaged. Ledger’s arrest was coupled with pending active warrants unrelated to the mail theft.

In a separate incident, KSAT reveals that 39-year-old Orlando Castro was taken into custody near Patricia Drive, caught red-handed with a bag of mail pilfered from more than 80 victims. Castro, snagged just ahead of a new local campaign to curtail mail theft, was reportedly seeking credit cards among the stolen correspondence. A second suspect managed to evade capture.
