Roller coaster weather is coming to Texas over the next 48 hours. After a cool Friday, high temps will warm well into the 70s across much of the state on Saturday. Don’t get used to the warmer weather, though. Big changes are on the way.
Arctic air is building across Canada and the northern U.S., and some of that air will surge into the Lone Star State by Saturday night. The chilly weather won’t just make a quick appearance either – it’s here to stay for a few days. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect.
Friday’s forecast
After dry air sat over much of the region on Thanksgiving, Gulf moisture will be increasing substantially Friday. That means we can expect mostly cloudy to overcast skies throughout the day, keeping temperatures cool.
Morning low temperatures in the low to mid-50s will slowly increase throughout the day, only rising into the mid-60s by the afternoon. By Friday afternoon and evening, higher atmospheric moisture levels will allow for drizzle and a few light showers to develop.
