Suspected intoxicated driver arrested after crash injures six children

SAN ANTONIO – Six children were seriously injured Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Binz-Engleman Road.

The children, ages 2 to 11, were inside the car when the crash occurred just before 2 p.m. Passersby stopped to help until emergency responders arrived. Some of the children suffered broken bones, and at least one sustained severe head injuries. Authorities say all the children are expected to recover.

According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, the driver, identified as Brittany Winston, 31, has been arrested and faces 14 potential felony charges.
