School bus crash near San Antonio injures bus aide, sends 3 students home

The gloomy weather plaguing the greater San Antonio area this morning seems to have an impact on a local school district. A bus crash early Thursday, December 4, sent three students home and left a bus aide in need of medical attention.

According to Somerset Independent School District officials – a small district on the southwestern edge of Bexar County – a bus carrying students crashed at around 6 a.m. near along Highway 16 near Encino Road. District staff say everyone on the bus was evaluated.

Three students who were on the bus at the time of the crash were released to their families from the scene. One school bus aide received additional medical attention, according to district officials. In a Facebook post, the district shared the aide is in stable condition and they “remain hopeful for a smooth and speedy recovery.” The post goes on to say the bus driver is doing well…
