Eight years ago, a duck fell from the nest where he was born, perched high above somewhere in the San Antonio Zoo.
Most ducks would have fluttered down softly and eventually flown off, moving onto wherever ducks born in San Antonio like to spend their lives. This one didn’t. The fall injured his wing, leaving him unable to fly.
Luckily, the place he landed — the zoo’s habitat for hippopotamuses — had a crew of animal experts ready to take care of him…
