Inmate Found Unresponsive at Bexar County Facility Dies Despite Lifesaving Efforts

A 35-year-old inmate at a Bexar County Sheriff’s Office facility was found unresponsive on her bunk Sunday morning and later pronounced dead, according to officials.

The inmate, identified as Jasmine Zamion, was discovered around 9 a.m. on Sunday, December 7th. A unit officer alerted on-site University Health medical staff, who attempted lifesaving measures. San Antonio Fire and EMS arrived shortly after and pronounced her dead.

Zamion had been booked into the facility Friday and housed in the unit since Saturday on a charge of criminal trespass. Officials said she had been under the care of on-site medical personnel and following an active treatment plan at the time of her death…
