A San Antonio sports bar hangs in the balance after property management took steps to lock out the nightlife concept, citing unpaid rent as the reason for the intervention. Home Room, or Homeroom as it’s sometimes stylized, may be closed until the business addresses the rent situation with its landlord, according to a sign posted to the bar’s front door.
MySA attempted to call Home Room directly and messaged the bar on social media to inquire about the business’s status after an Instagram reel about the bar’s alleged closure started making the rounds. We did not receive a response from Home Room, so we visited the sports bar on Tuesday, December 9. A change of locks notice was posted to the front door and the side gate of the business.
“We are notifying you that you are in default under the lease you entered into on January 11, 2022 with Live Oak Management, LLC for the premises at 517 Live Oak Street, San Antonio, Texas and that the landlord has changed the locks. After paying all delinquent rent you may obtain a new key during normal business hours from: 517 Live Oak Management, LLC,” said the paper notice, which was dated December 5.
MySA reached out to Live Oak Management via the number listed on the sign to inquire further, but the individual who answered declined to comment. For now, it appears that Home Room is postponed until further notice.
