Soup sold at H-E-B stores recalled for ‘life-threatening’ allergen

A supplier for San Antonio-based grocer H-E-B has recalled a ready-made soup because it presents a life-threatening risk to people with certain food allergies, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The first H-E-B food recall since February, 16-ounce Meal Simple brand Red Lentil Dal Soup was taken off shelves for containing milk, which wasn’t marked on its ingredient label.

No illnesses have been reported as of Dec. 10, according to the FDA. However, those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions from consuming the soup…
