Several Detained After Attempted Carjacking Leads to Violent Clash in Downtown San Antonio

Early Saturday in downtown San Antonio, an attempted carjacking escalated into a violent altercation, resulting in the detention of several suspects by police. The incident occurred around 12:46 a.m. near the intersection of Dolorosa and South Flores Street, as reported by FOX San Antonio. Two men, ages 41 and 49, were assailed by a group of individuals after their car, blasting music, caught their attention.

According to the victims’ statements, four suspects—one of whom engaged the driver in conversation while two others forcibly extracted the passenger from the vehicle—initiated the assault. During this commotion, the driver found himself under attack as well. A fifth suspect was seen fleeing a scene in a silver vehicle, as detailed by KENS 5. While the assailants attempted to hijack the car, they were stymied by modifications made to accommodate the owner’s father and were unable to drive away. The suspects subsequently fled on foot but were apprehended by officers in the vicinity.
