Man imprisoned for killing neighbor over dog has conviction overturned by appeals court

A man who was previously sentenced for killing his neighbor during an argument over a dog in 2021 is getting a new trial after an appeals court reversed his conviction.

Jordan Alexander Eaton, 22, was found guilty of killing Valentin Gonzales IV, 28, in October 2024. A Bexar County jury sentenced Eaton to 20 years in prison for murder and to 10 years of probation for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
