25 San Antonio restaurants that closed in 2025

I saved this story about the restaurants we lost in 2025 for last, because the closings keep on closing until the last day of the last month of the year. And they don’t stop there, as we learned a few days ago when the Pearl institution Cured announced its last day would come on the very first Sunday of the new year.

Yes, even Pearl felt the pain of a year marked by skyrocketing beef prices, a debilitating egg shortage and restaurant consumers left dazed and confused by inflation. While it added Michelin stars at Nicosi and Isidore in October, Pearl lost one of its rising stars that same month when Carriqui closed, followed by the New Year’s Eve departure of Full Goods Diner.

But there was plenty of pain to go around, and San Antonio waved goodbye to the old-guard favorites Good Time Charlie’s and Oscar’s Taco House in the same year as the next-wave players Dashi Chinese Kitchen and Ocho at Hotel Havana.

It was so much easier to compile my Top 10 new restaurants of the year than it would be to list all the San Antonio restaurants that closed in 2025, but here are 25 that left a mark…
