It’s a new year, and that means yet another new location for the local Tex-Mex chain Tia’s Taco Hut. And to celebrate the West Side opening of its 15th location, Tia’s is offering its celebrated cheese enchilada plate for just 99 cents.
They call it a loss-leader in the restaurant business, but Tia’s loss is your gain. Starting on Monday, Jan. 5, and running through Sunday, Jan. 11, the new location at 6032 Montgomery Road will offer enchilada plates with two cheese enchiladas, chili gravy, rice and beans for just 99 cents. The catch? The special is available only at that one location, and only for dine-in customers. And it doesn’t include the usual flour tortillas on the side.

How good of a deal is it? The plate usually costs $8.99, a solid value even at that price, a plate good enough to land among the 25 best things I ate in 2024.
