Classic San Antonio burger joint closes after 25 years in Live Oak

After 25 years in business, one of San Antonio’s favorite burger joints has called it a day. In a candid statement, Biff Buzby’s Burgers said it was closing its 12702 Toepperwein Rd #130 restaurant “indefinitely.”

“For 25 years, this place has been so much more than a burger joint,” the business wrote on social media. “It has been a gathering place, a second home, a dream come true, and a true labor of love. Over the years, we’ve had the honor of serving generations of families, watching kids grow up, celebrating milestones, sharing laughs, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.”

Donna and Ron Humphreys founded the Live Oak burger joint in 1999, basing their concept on a shared love of burgers. After Donna passed in 2019, Francis Rogers III eventually took over the business, updating the logo but not the classic American fare…
