A planned Texas Hill Country park will add to the region’s reputation as an outdoor escape.
Kendall County commissioners in December 2025 approved the purchase of “roughly” 310 acres along Farm to Market Road 474 and the Guadalupe River for $11.25 million. The park will be located about 8 miles northeast of the booming Hill Country city of Boerne and near popular local outdoor spaces like Kreutzberg Canyon Natural Area and Cave Without a Name.
The upcoming county park will include the county’s first-of-its-kind water trail, which will be used only for floating, kayaking and canoeing on the Guadalupe, according to a county-wide memo shared by Kendall County Commissioner Precinct 2 Andra Wisian.
