Mexican eatery at popular San Antonio shopping area locked out for alleged debt

Miguelito’s Mexican Grill & Cantina launched its first San Antonio location in June 2024, expanding from its South Texas roots. Now, nearly two years later, the Alamo City outpost has been locked out of its home at Park North Shopping Center.

A post on the San Antonio Restaurants Facebook group shared concerns that Miguelito’s had closed, so MySA stopped by to check out the status of the business. A lockout notice dated January 14 from the landlord, DPEG Park North, LP, was taped to the front door of the restaurant.

The notice alleges that Miguelito’s Mexican Grill & Cantina failed to pay its rent on time, resulting in a debt of $53,736. The notice also stated that “unauthorized entry is strictly prohibited.”

“The Landlord will pursue all legal remedies available, including criminal prosecution, against any individual who enters or attempts to enter the space without authorization,” the notice said. MySA attempted to contact Park North for comment, but did not hear back at the time of publishing…
