SAN ANTONIO — A man who was mistakenly released from jail, is now back behind bars, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said 40-year-old inmate Gabriel Valverde was accidentally released from the county jail on Wednesday around 2:45 a.m. Valverde had been in jail since October 2025 for assault and obstruction or retaliation charges.
According to a press release, the assault charge was dropped, but Valverde still had a standing charge for obstruction or retaliation.
