Massive multimillion-dollar shopping district gains momentum near San Antonio

A multi-million dollar retail project being built along a booming Texas corridor is making rapid progress. It’s been over a year in the making, but with several popular dining chains approved for the space, Schertz Station is looking like it will be worth the wait.

The mixed-use center is being constructed at the intersection of Cibolo Valley Drive and I-35, roughly 25 minutes northeast of downtown San Antonio. Anchored by EVO Entertainment, it will stretch roughly 72 acres and host dining, retail, and residential buildings.

Crews have been busy at the site, which has been undergoing work since at least January of last year. Now, new details have become available regarding what investors have been up to.

Scott Wayman, Executive Director of the City of Schertz’s Economic Development Corporation, says the spot has been “blessed with several ribbon cuttings” as of late. These include Panera Bread, which opened in October 2025, and Dave’s Hot Chicken, which welcomed its first customers on Friday, January 9, 2026.
