GOLIAD COUNTY, Texas - Goliad County Sheriff’s Office deputies made a significant fraud arrest Thursday, January 29, after a routine traffic stop uncovered stolen mail, passports, and extensive personal financial information.
According to the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office, an Operation Lone Star Interdiction sergeant stopped Marisa Magana of San Antonio for a traffic violation while she was driving a U-Haul. Magana told deputies she was traveling to a funeral. During the investigation, deputies determined she was in possession of stolen mail that had been illegally taken from both San Antonio and Goliad.
Deputies also discovered multiple passports that did not belong to Magana, along with a large number of credit cards issued to various individuals. Investigators say Magana was carrying a ledger containing detailed personal and financial information tied to numerous victims…
