A third San Antonio police officer has been suspended in connection with a June arrest in which a man was shot twice with a “foam ball” launcher and bitten by a police dog despite showing no physical resistance.
Officer Ivan A. Mendez received a 15-day suspension without pay after investigators concluded he violated department rules during the June 20 arrest on the West Side.
Mendez agreed to the punishment and waived his right to appeal. His suspension ran from Jan. 8 through Jan. 22, according to the records…
