Businessman Frank Thomas “Tom” Shumate Jr., who has been mired in controversy the last couple of years, is alleging in a lawsuit that he’s the victim of a huge theft pulled off by ex-employees and former close friends.
Shumate says his former administrative assistant “was able to illegally and secretly divert funds” from various accounts to ones controlled by his former second-in-command, now-imprisoned Timothy Gaines Pollard, and one-time pal and Kenedy County justice of the peace, Jerry William Miller.
