Man Arrested After String of Burglaries and Foot Chase in West Bexar County

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - A man is in custody after deputies say he burglarized multiple residences in West San Antonio and attempted to flee on foot Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 4 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2026, to a reported burglary in the 14000 block of Guadalupe Pass in the Alamo Ranch area. Witnesses reported seeing a man jumping fences between homes. One witness said the suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Emiliano De La Garza, left a tote bag at one location and was later seen jumping a fence while carrying an item he did not previously have.

Deputies canvassed the neighborhood and confirmed a burglary at a residence in the 14000 block of Guadalupe Pass. Homeowners reported items inside the home had been disturbed and that a tablet and jewelry were missing. Investigators later determined De La Garza was in possession of the stolen tablet…
