Venue behind Bad Bunny event in San Antonio addresses ICE-related backlash

Influencers who recently visited a Bad Bunny-themed Super Bowl pop-up event in San Antonio claim they weren’t allowed to write anti-ICE messages — and that the main attraction was unfinished. However, one of the venue’s owners tells MySA what happened was “a misunderstanding.”

That Venue at The Rim (inside the former home of The Rustic) is recreating the Puerto Rican singer’s iconic La Casita stage from Friday, February 6, through Sunday, February 8. Their weekend of events includes club-style dance parties and a Super Bowl watch party. However, after influencers Arnold Ruelas and Jacklyn Salinas (a cast member on the upcoming San Antonio reality TV show) recently visited for a sneak peek, they took to social media to get things off their chest. It’s not the first time the venue has faced backlash (and made changes to follow suit) after an influencer slammed Pumpkin Fest back in October 2025.

Why a Bad Bunny pop-up in San Antonio sparked backlash

In a series of TikToks, Ruelas said he could see paint still wet on the structure and called the event a “waste of time.”
