Regulars pulling up to Guerito’s Tacos on Potranco Road this week were met with a dark counter and locked doors. The Far West Side storefront has shuttered after the landlord ended the lease with little warning, according to the owners, who are now steering customers to the chain’s mall locations while they figure out their next move. The closure takes one of the area’s buzzy birria stops out of the rotation, at least for now.

In an Instagram message, the restaurant told followers, “Unfortunately the landlord has wrongfully blindsided us and has decided to no longer continue our lease as of February 11, 2026,” and urged diners to support its other outlets, as reported by MySA. That report notes Bexar County records list the property’s owner as 9218 POTRANCO LLC, with Birnbaum Property Company as a mailing contact. MySA also says it reached out to people connected to the property for comment but had not received a response by publication time.

Guerito’s gives the Potranco address as “9218 Potranco Road #103” on its official site, while a directory listing on MapQuest now flags the location as closed. The restaurant’s website is still live, complete with contact information and a full menu, even as the street-level counter remains dark.

Other Locations And Next Steps

The owners have asked fans to keep the business afloat by visiting the chain’s Ingram Park Mall kiosk and a “soon-to-open” North Star Mall spot, according to MySA. For now, that Ingram Park kiosk is the closest option for Potranco regulars while Guerito’s and the property side sort out what happens next…
