Will the familiar jingles of ice cream trucks soon become a thing of the past? Alsies, a frosty new concept coming to Schertz and Stone Oak this spring, will soon find out if smartphone convenience trumps 100 years of nostalgia.
Alsies positions itself as a disruptor, describing itself as a “pioneering, technology-driven ice cream truck brand.” Instead of waiting for an accidental bomb pop, users can log on to the Alsies app and track and find a truck near them through geo-fencing.
More conveniently, customers can also rent trucks or carts for events or even beckon the truck to their location. Have a mob of kids throwing a fit because you forgot the ice cream for a birthday cake? Call Alsies and be a hero…
