A quiet early morning drive on San Antonio’s West Side turned deadly Saturday when a man running into traffic on Loop 410 was hit by two vehicles and killed, authorities said.
San Antonio police were called just after 5 a.m. to the 7700 block of NW Loop 410 near Military Drive West, where officers found the pedestrian unresponsive in the eastbound lanes. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash shut down traffic and kicked off an investigation that stretched into the morning commute.
According to KSAT, a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department states the man was running back and forth in front of eastbound traffic when two vehicles, both traveling east, struck him. Both drivers stopped and cooperated with investigators, the report notes. Police have not released the man’s identity, pending notification of his family.
