Family of man who died from electrocution settles with CPS Energy, cement supplier

CPS Energy and a Texas cement supplier have settled a lawsuit brought by the family of a man who died in 2022 after being electrocuted by a downed power line in Garden Ridge.

The San Antonio utility is paying $150,000 and Lehigh Hanson Materials South LLC, now known as Heidelberg Materials, is paying $700,000 to relatives of Tate Boyster.

The settlement had been deemed confidential, but the San Antonio Express-News obtained the eight-page document under an open records request…
