Waymo robotaxis spotted using neighborhoods as pit stops. What we know.

Waymo robotaxis are getting ready to carry people around San Antonio, but their rollout has drawn concern from some residents who are creeped out by the cars loitering in their neighborhoods.

Since last year, the self-driving cars, outfitted with cameras and spinning sensors, at times have sat running for hours — sometimes all day — on streets in the Shearer Hills-Ridgeview neighborhood near Loop 410 and U.S. 281. They’ve also been spotted waiting in the Alta Vista and Monte Vista neighborhoods closer to downtown.

There have been at least four calls to police about concerns over parked Waymos, as well as two complaints over their driving and another for a January incident where one allegedly struck and killed a cat…
