Altered titles, fake name get East Side car dealer 20 felony charges, says Bexar County sheriff

Cut-rate car deals that seemed too good to be true on San Antonio’s East Side have now led to felony charges, after investigators say an unlicensed dealership was selling vehicles with altered paperwork.

Modesto Steven Salazar, 50, was arrested Feb. 28 in connection with the case and is facing 20 third-degree felony counts, including charges of tampering with a governmental record and providing a false name or information on vehicle registration documents, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
