Popular Frito-Lay hot chip recalled in Texas for ‘life-threatening’ risk

San Antonio hot chip lovers, beware — a spicy product from a popular potato chip brand is under recall for a “life-threatening” risk in six states, including Texas, according to one of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s latest announcements.

The recall was initiated Tuesday by Frito-Lay, an over $23 billion Plano-based snack food division of PepsiCo with a San Antonio manufacturing facility. It was was issued on select bags of 8-ounce Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chips from the brand Miss Vickie’s, which were distributed as early as Jan. 15.
