As a buzzy Utah-based chain shutters in San Antonio, its TX takeover continues

A shopping center on San Antonio’s Far Westside is looking a touch more vacant as two businesses have left in recent months. But one chain’s exit from the Alamo City altogether stands out amid its expansion in other parts of the Lone Star State.

Beans & Brews Coffee House found its way into the San Antonio area in 2024, when the Utah-based company opened its first location in the Alamo City. More locations would soon follow, but as of March 2026, none remain in San Antonio despite growth in nearby markets.

Four locations of Beans & Brews Coffee House have folded in San Antonio, a string of closures that were first reported by CultureMap San Antonio. MySA confirmed that the coffee shop locations at 6507 W. Loop 1604 N., 9139 Grissom Road, 20821 Highway 281 and 711 Navarro St. have all closed. However, as recently as January 2026, the chain has expanded in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, according to The Dallas Morning News.

A January new release sent out on behalf of Beans & Brews expressed the company’s intention to continue growing in Texas, but it made no mention of San Antonio…
