SAN ANTONIO – A man was sentenced to 45 years in prison this week for a 2020 high-speed collision that killed a woman on the city’s Southeast Side.
Judge Ron Rangel of the 379th District Court handed down the sentence to Phillip Lopez for the murder of Olga De Anda.
The crash happened in August 2020 along Goliad Road, about a block away from Southeast Military Drive. Lopez stole a running SUV from a roadside vendor. While fleeing at a high rate of speed, Lopez ran a red light and struck De Anda’s vehicle, killing her. He also crashed into three other cars…
