San Antonio Independent School District has faced years of turmoil over financial struggles, dipping enrollment and shuttered schools. Now, it’s on course to shut down another tenured and beloved campus, clearing hallways once walked by some household Texas names.
“The Rhodes Middle School building will close at the end of this school year, and the Rhodes students will be assigned to Tafolla Middle School as their home campus,” SAISD officials said in a letter sent to parents Tuesday, March 17. “Tafolla Middle School will be operated by Third Future Schools.”
