On Thursday on San Antonio’s South Side, a shuttle ride turned into a heart-stopping rescue when the driver bolted into traffic to snatch a toddler from a busy road. The tense moment, caught on the vehicle’s dashcam, unfolded in seconds and left the driver visibly shaken.
According to KSAT, the driver is Michelle Gallegos, who said she was terrified when she spotted the child alone along a South Side thoroughfare. In video produced by Katrina Webber and published March 19, 2026, Gallegos is seen pulling the shuttle over and heading straight for the toddler. KSAT reports that her quick move “may be the reason the child is alive.”
