Landa Avenue Trail Turns Bloody as West Side Man Is Shot and Critical

A normally quiet trail off Landa Avenue on San Antonio’s West Side turned into a crime scene Tuesday after a 33-year-old man was shot and rushed to a hospital with what police described as possible life-threatening injuries.

Officers said they found the victim bleeding on a trail near the 200 block of Landa Avenue, on a path that leads into a nearby park. According to police, he had been hit twice in the stomach and once in the leg and was taken in critical condition to a local trauma center. A woman at the scene was detained as a witness, and investigators said they do not yet have information on a suspect, according to KENS 5.

Investigation Underway

San Antonio police were called to the area after reports of gunfire along Landa Avenue. Officers searched the scene, walked the surrounding blocks, and collected evidence on and around the trail while detectives chased down early leads into the night.

Investigators urged anyone who might have video or information about the shooting to contact authorities so they can follow up on tips and piece together what led up to the gunfire.
