A routine custody exchange at a San Antonio YMCA took a violent turn when Oscar Javier Barbosa was stabbed multiple times, an attack police say was orchestrated by his ex-girlfriend. On Sunday, March 22, authorities arrested Abel Ali Rivas, charging him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance in connection with the February incident.
The stabbing occurred on Feb. 19 outside the Davis-Scott Family YMCA on Iowa Street.
