The San Antonio Police Department is investigating a possible murder after an initial response to a fire near a major Texas highway lead to the discovery of a body.
The San Antonio Fire Department responded to a call for a brush fire on Saturday, March 28 at about 7:35 a.m. at the 1500 block of Rigsby Avenue on the city’s eastside. “As they extinguished the fire they observed what appeared to be a body wrapped in different materials before being set on fire,” the San Antonio Police Department said in a preliminary report. The San Antonio Fire Department contacted the SAPD after the discovery, who then went to the scene of the fire.
The SAPD said in the report at this time, that it is unknown how the body arrived at the location of the fire. They added there is no additional information on a person connected to the body or to the fire. Information on how the fire was started was also not available in the report.
